A fast-growing business club in Ryedale has invited a public relations expert to speak at its next meeting due to an increase in demand for the service in the area.
Ryedale Business Club, which was established in 2004, is aimed at business owners in the local area who want to network and learn more about how to run their companies more effectively.
Anna Addison, who runs her PR company Anna Addison Associates from her office on Teesside, will attend the business club’s next meeting on Tuesday March 27th at the Worsley Arms in Hovingham. Among the topics Anna will cover are why managing your image and building your profile are so important, how PR can help a small business and the importance of a good relationship with the media.
Ryedale Business Club currently has around thirty members and meets six times a year. Members enjoy a range of benefits including free business advice, updates on changes in legislation and guest speakers offering expert advice as well as networking and social events.
Brian Law, club secretary, said: “The club has consistently expanded over the last three years and we have members from a wide range of business backgrounds. Ryedale is certainly a hive of business activity and our members have expressed a real interest in finding out more about the minefield that is the media.”
Anna, a former BBC journalist who has run her own PR company for two years, added: “Managing your image and increasing your profile are two critical elements of ensuring business success. Many people think that good PR is just a matter of getting your name in the press but I will be exploring other successful avenues with Ryedale Business Club and offering advice on the ever-changing media world.”
